Nike Tiger Woods Michael Vick

Nike Tiger Woods Michael  is no longer in the doghouse with Nike. The Eagles quarterback was re-signed to a contract with the sports apparel giant nearly four years after it ended his contract over his involvement in a dog-fighting ring.

"Michael acknowledges his past mistakes," Nike spokesman Derek Kent told CNBC.

"We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field."

The amount of the contract was not disclosed.

Nike dropped Vick in August of 2007 and halted the release of his signature shoe shortly after he admitted to participating in the ring.

While he has not been officially with the company in years, Nike began supplying Vick with complimentary gear in October 2009, sparking discussion that a new endorsement was on the horizon.

But it took what many consider the ultimate comeback season for Vick to score a new contract. He won the starting QB job and led the Eagles to the NFC East championship last season.

CNBC pointed out that this is the first time a brand that broke ties with an athlete re-signed them.

"I want to thank Nike and all my fans for the support throughout," Vick tweeted late Friday afternoon. "Greatly appreciated."

Vick wasn't the only disgraced sports star to find a new deal this week.

Tiger Woods, whose squeaky-clean reputation took a hit when his rampant cheating came to light and torpedoed his marriage, was hired as a spokesperson for a Japanese heat-rub company.

The TV commercial with Woods will debut this month, Japan Today reported.

Woods, who still has many endorsements, including Nike, was dropped as a spokesman a few companies after his infidelity became tabloid fodder in late 2009.

This is believed to be his first new endorsement deal since the incident.
